This assessment identifies why your business is producing its current results and what must change to improve performance and predictability. We begin by clarifying the outcomes you are targeting and how consistently the business is delivering against them. We then evaluate whether your measurements, operating cadence, and core processes truly support those outcomes. Next, we assess whether your leadership structure, ownership model, and talent capabilities are aligned to deliver at your next stage of growth. The analysis includes confidential input and working sessions with the CEO and three to seven key leaders who own functional and operational results. You receive a written performance report and a focused 90-day execution roadmap highlighting your strongest advantages and your primary operating constraints.

Strategic Execution Plan

The Strategic Execution Plan converts the findings from your Business Performance Analysis into a leadership owned operating plan. It identifies the few priorities that will materially improve results, aligns them to the operating processes and decision rhythms required to execute, and clarifies leadership ownership and capability needed to sustain progress. The plan establishes clear outcomes, measures, and execution practices so strategy becomes part of how the business runs each week. A structured ninety day cadence ensures progress is visible, reviewed, and corrected in real time.

Optional Execution Support

If you choose not to execute the Strategic Execution Plan internally, Opscale can provide hands-on execution support to ensure the plan is implemented and sustained. We embed alongside your leadership team to establish the operating cadence, build and launch the required scorecards and workflows, clarify ownership and decision rights, and facilitate weekly execution and leadership sessions to remove blockers and maintain momentum. Our role is to help your team adopt the new operating model in real time, build internal capability, and ensure execution discipline becomes part of how the business runs, not an external dependency.

I’m Ron James, and I founded OpScale Partners to help professional services, legal, and Reg Tech businesses scale with clarity, structure, and confidence.

With over 15 years of executive experience, I’ve led operational transformations in some of the most complex and high-growth environments, from multi-state retail tax operations to fintech and Reg Tech platforms. As Senior Vice President of Operations at Innovation Refunds, I helped scale a specialty tax platform to over $1 billion in revenue. During my time there, I built a national customer success organization, integrated AI and automation across multiple departments, and implemented a digital collections strategy that increased revenue while reducing cost. I also developed standardized SOPs that created process consistency across outsourced teams, saving the company over $2 million annually. A core part of this work included expanding Innovation Refunds’ legal and tax partnerships growing strategic relationships across the accounting and compliance landscape.

Before that, I spent over a decade at H&R Block, where I oversaw more than 300 tax offices across seven states, managing a $90 million P&L and leading a team of over 3,000 employees. I helped build, pilot, and launch the company’s Block Advisors service line, focused on serving small businesses. I also piloted and scaled multiple company programs, including nationwide client experience transformation initiatives that dramatically improved customer satisfaction scores and frontline service execution.

Earlier in my career, I held leadership roles at Walmart and Best Buy, where I led retail operations, developed store leaders, and managed full P&L responsibilities across multi-unit environments. Those experiences shaped my practical, systems-first approach to leadership—and my belief that great operations are built, not assumed.
